Saturday in the Countryside: Chantilly

One of the things that I absolutely love about living in France is how much there is to see and I feel like I will never be able to see all of it! This weekend I visited Chantilly, a small little town north of Paris (about a 25-minute train ride from Gare du Nord). It is known for its beautiful château but also for the delicious topping known as whipped cream. In French, whipped cream is called chantilly, just like the town. 2017 For Now

When 2017 started off, I was in a rut. I parted ways with my then host family due to scheduling issues, I had just finished up my first semester at the Sorbonne which was highly stressful and in all honesty, I was pretty worn out by a lot of personal things in my life. Falling In Love With Italy : Milano

I have always been in love with Italy. Italian food has always been top on my list, the language is music to my ears and the culture is not one that shocks me (by experience, the French jumble up Spaniards, Italians and Portuguese in one group: loud). My family has a friend who speaks multiple languages. I have always looked up to him since I was little. He learned Spanish in college and can speak it practically without an accent. I would always beg him to speak to me in two languages, French or Italian, but he tended to speak more in French since it was better than his Italian.
